This video is from Geoff’s Hobie Adventure Island Trimaran Pedal Sailboat looking at barges coming up the river with Bob’s Custom Outrigger Canoe in view. Barge’s were by far the biggest issue navigating the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers on our journey. One must anticipate where they are heading by considering the channel marked by red and green buoys.

Since I am off all week, I decided to take a day trip along the Mississippi River with my Dad from Alma Wi. to Prarie DuChein Wi. Here is just a small portion of my video footage! It was a rather nice day to the north with a bit of haze, Down closer to LaCrosse Wi. The skies started to get overcast. My Father & I didn’t mind! He got out of his house for the day & I didn’t have to work! Ohh Yeah!!!!! All in all,….It was a great trip! The day went by way too fast! We met alot of very nice people along the way!

The Captain of this barge radioed us and asked us to move our houseboat out of the channel to the otherside of the channel bouys. He was making a turn with the channel and the going was kind of tight. He assured us that the water was clear on the outside of the channel markers where we were at. The video kind of captures the size and power of the barges and the tug.
