The Twilight Riverboat passing Clinton, Iowa’s riverfront at approx 10:30am on 09.13.09. For some reason they weren’t playing it’s Calliope music. You can hear it here: http://www.steamboats.org/whistle-calliope/calliope-twilight.html

From www.steamboats.org:
The Twilight was designed by Capt. Dennis Trone (see also Julia Belle Swain) in the style of the great old passenger boats. The boat was built by Levac Shipyard in Jennings, LA, and finished by Dennis Trone in 1987 in LeClaire, IA. The construction shows how much Dennis Trone loves these wonderful boats. Unfortunately the boat isn’t run by paddlewheels but by a diesel engine and propellers.

Based in LeClaire, IA, the Twilight offers 2-day-cruises from May til October from LeClaire to Galena, IL, and return (reservations 800-331-1467).

We start off going down the streets of St. Louis where people in the streets are doing things. We pass Sportsman’s Park where the Cardinals use to play before moving to Bush Stadium, then to new Bush Stadium. Then we see people waving some torn bed sheets around. Then we tour a street. We start floating down the Mississippi River where we see and a boat. Then we see this lady and she’s upset because her glasses are out of style. Then we see the chain of Rocks Bridge! Then we see only half of the Gateway Arch. Then we see the building of the Poplar St. Bridge. Then an old double Decker bridge. More half-arch then the Admiral riverboat. Then we head downtown for some goofy shots, fountains and old cars. Now we’re having a Bar-B-Q! This lady pets a grey cat, then smiles as the film ends.

Zahlreiche Sonderfunktionen wie z.B. ein Dampfgenerator, Schiffsirene, Nebelhorn und MP3-Player werten das Modell zusätzlich auf. Die reine Bauzeit betrug ca. 650 Stunden.

This tune is Jelly Roll Morton’s, “The Pearls.”

Steve performed a concert of wonderful Ragtime and early 20th century music in Kansas City on 2/15/08. He is a fantastic piano player and all round performer, and entertains audiences regularly on the American Queen River Boat that cruises up and down the Mississippi River.

The poor old upright piano Steve played in this video lends an antique quality to the music he was playing.

Here Steve Spracklen is playing “House of Lords Rag”, composed by his mentor, the fabulous Bob Darch. The late Darch was the very best ragtime revivalist and Steve is undoubtedly his worthy successor!
